Inside Out

Hi Folks, Today we'll be talking about our core emotions. In the process we will try to understand and befriend them. We will also learn that all emotions are to be cherished in order to be truly strong. Let me introduce you guys to our core friends who are there with us through thick and thin.  You commonly know them as Fear, Anger, Joy, Disgust and Sadness . Little do we realize how much these guys go though to keep our shell powered up!  Still most of the times we end up cursing them for absolutely no reason at all (except lucky Joy :P). Funny thing is these guys follow orders from ' The Big Boss ' whom they never saw, they are just instructed to follow certain protocols and what's funnier is ' The Big Boss ' is none other than you. I know you don't realize it yet, that is why I am here. Why fear when Pranav is here :P This hierarchy is bit complicated as it is more than just physical allocation. Like light has dual nature so do we. We hav...

Hope for the Best! and Prepare for the Worst!

Hi Folks, In this post I'll be keeping it short and simple; title says it all. Not only for major decisions in life, if you make it a habit of hoping for the best and preparing for the worst; believe me when i say this There is no force in the world that can disrupt your inner peace Technically speaking, when we write server-side code; before getting into what is to be done we do what unexpected can come! For example; if I have to create an API which calculates factorial (yeah! I get it why would you create an API to calculate a factorial; just keep your noisy brain stick to this concept, factorial is just an example :P ), before I write calculation logic for factorial I'll think of these scenarios! 1. What if null or empty data is passed!! 2. What if instead of number someone passes aplhanumeric data!! So you see; it may seem like nothing and probably overboard initially but like in software designing, the amount of time you spend in development is barely 10% of softw...

Key to Successful Professional Life

Often we wonder about a good pay believing a good pay yields a good life.  If put bluntly, we desperately long for a better pay. While it is no wonder that money can solve a lot of problems in day-to-day live, there are still many things that calls for background check. For instance, if you give a beggar a grand, he'll most likely end up being a beggar after few months, point here is he/she doesn't has the mind-set. Most common mistake we all do when we start our career is we embed this information deep in our brain that your brain starts working for money. Probably you all must have heard it from people around you; and probably rejected the idea (What chances do I have with the same thought! - I wonder). Funny thing is, believe it or not at some point of time you'll realize. It is better to live a life of ' Oh! Well... ' than ' What If!! '. Do what you love to do; do it with passion; and the money will follow Pretty simple; yet the...

The Value of Time

Image
This is not new when someone says value time, time is money blah blah... Funny thing is unless you realize it on your own that you need to move, there is no force in the world that can move you. Today I'll share concept of prioritizing things. Let us accept the fact that no one is busy, we just have priorities which we follow. The real question is are we prioritizing things correctly, or is it our mind who is directing our lives from behind the curtain. Let us construct a truth-table of 2 variables first. See some examples for these which will help you relate to your activities: [U] & [I]    - Urgent & Important  • Monthly Rent/Bills • Money & Time budgeting • Meals (Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner) ![U] & [I]  - Not Urgent But Important • Physical exercise • Career introspection • Daily book reading • Knowledge expansion (learning something new which aids productivity) [U] & ![I]  - Urgent But Not Important...

Dog behind its tail for '100 coin' Happiness

Before I tell you that, I'd like to express thanks to Shubham & Pranjal ; my two kandhas because it is their content and I am only a medium to share this knowledge. In Shubham's words: Once, a king and his adviser were travelling in remote areas of his reign. There was a small house, family of four; husband-wife-son-daughter. The king observed everyone was so happy and cheerful, they cherished the moment. King was amused so he decided to camp nearby to observe this family. Everyday he would see both husband and wife working together, they wouldn't do much but whatever they did it clearly reflected how much they are loving their moment with each other.  This went on for some days, finally king got curious and wanted to know what is the secret behind all this happiness. Clearly this family was very poor they can barely afford food & shelter yet they all rejoiced every moement. He asked his adviser,  'Tell me what could be the reason behind this happines...

This is about nothing, its more of honing my writing skills and also get over my loneliness as you must have guessed, struggling software-engineer implies a software engineer having a low income which also implies that in a city like Bengaluru, you practically can't have fun because you're broke. Phew, that was direct! What kind of posts am I going to find here !? Since I am already an year ahead in my career as a Software-Engineer, I am planning to share my life experiences and things I have learned so far about life, human psyche and psychology . These posts will be open ended and will only show yo...
